STEARNS FOUNDATION DONATES $100K TO CANYON ACRES HOMES FOR ABUSED CHILDREN
CANYON ACRES HOMES FOR ABUSED CHILDREN TO RECEIVE $100,000 STEARNS FAMILY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION DONATION AT STARTING LINE OF 2005 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HALF MARATHON & 5K RACE
WHAT:
The Stearns Family Charitable Foundation will present Canyon Acres Children and Family Services with a gift of $100,000 at the starting line of the Southern California half marathon in front of thousands of runners. The setting will provide a great backdrop for press photos.
WHO:
City of Irvine Mayor, The Honorable Beth Krom, will join Glenn and Mindy Stearns, founders of the Stearns Family Charitable Foundation and recent winners of TBS’ The Real Gilligan’s Island in a short donation Ceremony. Clete Menke, Executive Director of Canyon Acres will accept the donation in front of thousands of Southern California Runners ready to start the Southern California Half Marathon benefiting Canyon Acres.

The Stearns Family Charitable Foundation gift is made in celebration of Canyon Acres 25 th year anniversary of healing and caring for children. The January 8 th race and event is hosted by the Woodbridge High School Athletic Boosters which includes a Half Marathon, 5K Run, Kids 1.5K Lake Run, Awards Ceremonies, and an Expo-Fair open from 7:00 am – Noon.
About Stearns Family Charitable Foundation:
The Stearns Family Charitable Foundation, founded by Orange County’s Glenn and Mindy Stearns, is dedicated to helping disadvantaged youth reach their full potential. The couple, who recently won the $250,000 prize on the TBS television show “The Real Gilligan's Island”, donated all winnings to the Stearns Family Charitable Foundation that the Stearns companies generously matched.
